Youth-led humanitarian group We Dream chose compassion over celebration to mark its third founding anniversary on August 12. The organisation arranged ‘A Handful of Love’ at the Beowarish Manobseba Old Age Home in Bayezid Oxygen, bringing food, warmth, and companionship to the elderly residents.
The evening was filled with shared meals, heartfelt conversations, and quiet moments of care — a reminder that even small gestures can leave deep impressions.
The initiative was supported by the BNP units of 2nd Jalalabad Ward and 44th Organisational Ward, along with contributions from many well-wishers.
We Dream founder Jhum Brishti and Ilias Ripon led the effort, coordinated by Afroza Sultana Purnima, President of Chittagong Entrepreneur Forum.
. Md. Belal, convener of the 2nd Jalalabad Ward BNP, attended as the chief guest, while Md. Mamun Alam, convener of the 44th Organisational Ward BNP, inaugurated the event. Special guest was Mohammad Karim, member secretary of the BNP’s 44th Organisational Ward.
Guest of Honour was Md. Kamrul Kayes Chowdhury, Chairman of the Helpless Smile Foundation.
Other distinguished guests included Lion Arju Khan, advisor of Nandanik Chattola; Lion Ismat Ara Nilima, president of Nandanik Chattola; former City Corporation state officer Jasim Uddin Chowdhury; Nazim Uddin Chowdhury Anel, founder of Bangladesh Welfare Society; Sheikh Emran, chairman of Human Support Foundation; and Shahidur Rahman Khokon of Manobik Chattogram.
Also present were corporate personality Jahan Diba and women entrepreneur Payra, along with Iftikhar Rajes, Monira Tanshi, Shaheen Trishna, Tasnim Nilu, Umme Aymun Sultana, Afia Newar Labiba, and Diba.
The celebration stood as a testament that love, when put into action, can be life’s most precious gift.
