An Azimusshan Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference was held on Monday (August 25) at the courtyard of Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque in Chattogram, organised by Bangladesh Ahlus Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Chattogram.
The event was presided over by the organisationโs president and former principal of Baitush Sharaf Kamil Madrasa, Shaykhul Hadith Prof Dr Sayyed Muhammad Abu Noman, with vice-president Mohsen Al-Hussaini and Maulana Imranul Haque Saeed conducting the session.
Addressing as chief guest, Prime Ministerโs Adviser on Religious Affairs Dr A F M Khaled Hossain said:
โWe must transform society in light of the Seerat-un-Nabi. In future, state power should be entrusted to pious and God-fearing people. For 54 years, the countryโs wealth has been plundered by those who were never patriots. To safeguard religion and the nation, we must work in unity. The Islamic Foundation and the Ministry of Religious Affairs are tirelessly working towards this goal. Once honest leadership is established in the state, corruption will have no place.
This year, for the first time, after successfully completing the Hajj, nearly Tk 8.26 crore has been refunded to pilgrims โ a remarkable milestone. Scholars from all schools of thought must set aside minor differences and unite โ not just by shaking hands, but heart to heart.โ
Chief discussant and Khatib of Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, descendant of the Prophet (PBUH), Allama Sayyed Muhammad Anwar Hossain Taher Jaber Madani, warned against any delay or conspiracy regarding mosque renovation, noting that the second floor is currently closed due to safety concerns.
Renowned Quranic commentator Maulana Qari Abdullah Al-Amin emphasised that keeping a beard is wajib (obligatory) in Islamic Shariah and a Sunnah of all Prophets. He condemned incidents of harassment against hijab-wearing students and urged the establishment of the Prophetโs ideals for social peace and security.
Scholars including former IIUC VC Prof Dr Abu Bakr Rafiq, CU Arabic Department Prof Dr A K M Abdul Kader, Dr Mawlana Gias Uddin Talukdar, Dr Mawlana Ahmad Ali, Dr Nezam Uddin, Dr Shafiullah Kutubi, and Prof Dr A S M Abdul Mannan Chowdhury spoke on various aspects of the Prophetโs life.
Other speakers included Darul Uloom Kamil Madrasaโs former principal Dr A T M Taher, chief Muhaddis Maulana Ahmadur Rahman Nadvi, IIUC Prof Dr B M Mufizur Rahman Azhari, Pir of Charkanai Darbar Maulana Muhammad Harunur Rashid, Maulana Shariat Ullah Jihadi, Maulana Imranul Haque Saeed, and Maulana Mohiuddin Mahbub, among others.
Distinguished guests such as Maulana Muhammad Hafizul Haq Nizami, former principal of Chunati Hakimia Kamil Madrasa; Maulana Salim Ullah, principal of Baitush Sharaf Kamil Madrasa; and Shahzada Maulana Monirul Mannan of Darul Uloom Kamil Madrasa were present.
Winners of an essay competition were awarded at the event. The conference concluded with prayers and supplications led by Sayyed Muhammad Anwar Hossain Taher Jaber Madani. President Prof Dr Sayyed Muhammad Abu Noman thanked all attendees for their active participation.
