Evercare Hospital Chattogram, the cityโs largest tertiary healthcare facility, observed World Hepatitis Day 2025 through an awareness programme focused on early detection, vaccination, and education to promote better liver health.
The event brought together leading specialists in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with the aim of highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis and other liver-related illnesses. The programme was led by the hospitalโs senior medical team, supported by its administration.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Sameer Singh, Chief Operating Officer of Evercare Hospital Chattogram, emphasized the hospital’s commitment beyond clinical care.
โRaising awareness is the first step in fighting diseases like hepatitis. At Evercare, we are dedicated not only to treatment but also to empowering communities with the knowledge to make informed health decisions,โ he said.
The medical panel included Dr. Sandeep Dhawan, Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr. Mushfiqur Abrar, Consultant, and Dr. S.M. Sohel Rana, Attending Consultant.
They discussed the latest advances in screening, vaccination, and treatment, stressing the importance of lifestyle modifications to prevent liver diseases.
โHepatitis is often called a silent killer,โ said Dr. Sandeep Dhawan.
โIt can damage the liver for years without showing symptoms. Breaking this silence requires awareness, routine screening, and timely care. Our mission at Evercare is to not only treat but also proactively educate the public about liver health.โ
The initiative reinforced the hospitalโs commitment to world-class healthcare and public health advocacy, encouraging the public to act early and stay informed about preventable conditions such as hepatitis.
