Mohammedia Khanqah Sharif Hosts Sixth Day of Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Observance

The Mohammedia Khanqah Sharif at West Khulshi, Jalalabad, in Chattogram continued its twelve-day programme marking the holy occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). As part of the series, the sixth day of events was observed on Sunday, August 31, with programmes held at two separate venues.

Daytime programme at Residential Model School and College
In the afternoon, a special doa, discussion and prayer gathering took place at the cityโ€™s Residential Model School and College. Teachers, students, guardians and people from different walks of life attended.

The session was presided over by Principal Dr Kamal Uddin. The chief guest was Professor Dr Ahsanul Hadi of Dhaka Universityโ€™s Department of Arabic and Persian Language and Literature. The event was coordinated under the supervision of Ashiq-e-Rasul Muhammad Kamrul Islam, chief khadem of Mohammedia Khanqah Sharif.

Special guest Senior Assistant Editor of the Daily Purbodesh, Absar Mahfuz, was also present, while Advocate Mir Mohammad Ferdous Alam Selim conducted the programme. Dua and munajat were led by Mufti Saleh Sufian Maizbhandari.

Professor Hadi emphasised the relevance of the Prophetโ€™s teachings, saying: โ€œAllahโ€™s final Messenger (PBUH) is the guide to humanityโ€™s salvation. If his ideals are upheld in society, justice, peace and equality will prevail.โ€

The programme also featured recitations from the Qurโ€™an, Hamd and Naโ€™at, before concluding with a milad and special prayer involving teachers and students.

Evening gathering at Mohammedia Khanqah Sharif
From the evening, devotees gathered at Mohammedia Khanqah Sharif where the atmosphere was filled with Hamd, Naโ€™at and Darood Sharif. Professor Dr Ahsanul Hadi addressed the gathering as chief guest, remarking: โ€œThe Prophet (PBUH) was the greatest role model for humanity. If todayโ€™s generation follows his Sunnah, moral decay will be prevented and peace and brotherhood will return to society.โ€

The session was presided over by Muhammad Kamrul Islam, chief khadem of the Khanqah, who said: โ€œDevotion to the Messenger (PBUH) is the central goal of our lives. This mahfil will play a vital role in establishing unity, brotherhood and truth in society.โ€

The programme was conducted by Advocate Mir Mohammad Ferdous Alam Selim.

Special speakers and closing prayers
Guest speakers included Mufti Muhammad Masud Rizvi, trainer and director at Bangladesh Skill Development Instituteโ€™s Tourism and Hotel Management Department, and Maulana Mohammad Forqan, Khatib of Kulgaon Gausia Azizia Jame Mosque.

They stated: โ€œThe birth of the Prophet (PBUH) is a mercy for us. By embracing his teachings and ideals, society can overcome conflict and move towards compassion and humanity.โ€

The mahfil concluded with milad and qiyam led by Maulana Monsurul Haque, followed by collective Darood recitation. A special prayer was offered for peace, prosperity and unity of the nation and the wider Muslim ummah, led by Professor Dr Ahsanul Hadi.

The sixth dayโ€™s observance created a deeply spiritual atmosphere at the Khanqah, with devotees renewing their commitment to follow the Prophetโ€™s teachings.

Among those present were Saiful Islam Sohas, Mithu, and Robiul, among others.
