Monjur Morshed Bhuiyan Kanak, chairman of G-Make Corporation Ltd and a prominent son of Mirsharai Sadar Union, has been nominated as a member of the Standing Committee on Customs of the Chattogram Customs Agents Association. The nomination was confirmed by the associationโs general secretary, Md. Shawkat Ali.
The committee, one of several formed to assist the executive council in carrying out the associationโs activities, is regarded as an important body for safeguarding the interests of C&F agents. Officials said Mr. Morshedโs nomination was based on his experience, dedication, and professional competence. He has been asked to provide his written consent within seven days, after which the nomination will be considered valid if no objection is received.
Mr. Morshed has long been involved in political, business, and social activities. He previously served as president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Mirsharai Sadar Union unit, as well as senior joint convener and vice-president of Mirsharai upazila JCD. He was also a joint convener of BNPโs Mirsharai Sadar Union and a former member of the Chattogram North district JCD.
In professional capacities, he is currently an executive member of the Bilonia Customs Agents Association and also holds membership in the Bilonia Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association, the Chattogram C&F Agents Association, and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also a life member of the Voice of America (VOA).
Mr. Morshed is equally known for his social commitments. He is senior vice-president and former member of the Mithachhara Central Eidgah Committee, general secretary of the Kadir Box Bhuiyan Bari Jame Mosque, and chief adviser of the Saeed Mohammad Jame Mosque. He serves as adviser to Nabojagoron newspaper and the Mirsharai C&F Family Welfare Association, and is patron of Projonmo Mirsharai and Shantinir, a Baraiyarhat-based welfare organisation. He is also a life member of the Reza Khan (R.) Library, donor member of the Mirsharai Press Club, donor member of the Mirsharai Association in Chattogram, and member of Sufia Road Madrasa.
Through his multi-faceted contributions in politics, business, and community development, Mr. Morshed has earned wide recognition. The association expressed confidence that he will play a significant role in strengthening the activities of the Standing Committee on Customs.
